I've had this Tifa Lockhart costume since December of last year but I still haven't gotten around to having a legit photo shoot to show off the entire outfit. To be fair, it is not the most flattering costume. I ordered it online and it doesn't fit too well. It is too big in some areas and too small in others. When I wore this cosplay to Anime Los Angeles in January my pants kept sliding down because they were too loose. Not very comfortable or attractive, lol. I'll have to fix up the costume before I take "real" photos. For now, enjoy these half-assed bathroom photos haha

I dyed my hair black a few months ago so this is my real hair in these photos, not a wig :)

From what 'version' this costume is? :? I cosplayed like Tifa and honestly saw just two versions out of there, the mini skirt with white top and no jackets or similar and the black 'overall' look for the movie Advent of Children.
Meh, tell me about it: the only time I bought a costume for a cosplay I had to spend money to make it fit on my body, it was like two sizes too big for me. XD

Yeah, this is the outfit she wore in the movie.
I don't really know if I can fix this one. The worst part is the pants that are way too loose around the waist. In this photo most of what is shown of the pants is actually my black spandex shorts that I was wearing underneath lol. I know there are ways to hem the waist but the cape thing attached in the back might make it impossible. Another problem is that the top is way to small and is only supposed to show a bit of my stomach but it is now more like a tube top :/

Ugh, problem with outfits for cosplay... they have a very limited range of sizes, and the size you usually could get is often too large in some zones and too tight on others. I have to get like a XXXL if I want to wear something from Asia because of my huuuge hips, but the rest of my body is like a medium or a large so it's always a nightmare for me shopping online, ugh.
For my Tifa I bought discounted clothes like a top and a fake leather shorts (I still use them normally, not just for cosplay) and I spent like less than 20 dollars for both. Soooo cozy and I can wear them out of the comiccon while I take a train or a bus or anything.

Can't you wear a black belt, doesn't it have belt loops? Normal clothes have them, but I'm nor sure, I never bought a cosplay skirt because they won't fit my chubby booty at all XD. If you have to wear the outfit like in the next few days you could try to 'fix' it using a huge safety pin so you won't lose the pants as you walk. But it would work just for a short while, I'd suggest you still to take your pants to the tailor, because they know how to make them more secure without ruining them and you could like make the costume in two parts and then use velcro or buttons to keep the cape and the pants in one piece.
I carried to my tailor a too long top and large bodycon skirt I bought to make Fionna and he shortened the sleeves and the skirt and made the waist more adherent and it's like a perfectly customized outfit now. If I bought the whole Fionna costume online I would have looked tacky, fake and surely the fabric would have been shiny and itchy and I would still had to carry it to a tailor because I wouldn't have been able to wear them.

You actually made me want to wear my Tifa costume after an eternity, I'll totally do it for the next comiccon thank you! XD

the costume is so impractical it doesn't even come with belt loops lol. it doesn't even zip up the front like regular pants, it zips up on the side. :iconfacepalmplz:
I tried attaching the pants to my shorts underneath but they came undone halfway through the day. :(

You should totally wear that cosplay again! With news of the game being remade it should be more popular and your costume will get a lot of attention ^^

Oooh, man, this is terrible. You have to redo it from the start if you want to wear it. :nuu:

I even bought a long wig, but honestly with the hot weather... I think I'll probably just straighten my hair in order to survive. XD
